Visitor Information

Panola Medical Center understands family members and friends are an important part of the healing process for our patients and we welcome you to visit. We have policies and procedures in place to help you and your family work with our doctors, nurses, and staff to get the most from your hospital stay. Please take a few minutes to review these guidelines with your loved ones.

Visitor Guidelines

We encourage visitors for emotional support and recovery. To provide a restful and safe environment, we ask that all visitors comply with the following guidelines:

Be considerate of other patients by keeping noise to a minimum.

Refrain from visiting if you have a cold, sore throat, or any contagious disease.

Observe “No Visiting” and precaution signs before entering the room.

Do not smoke or use tobacco products. Panola Medical Center is a completely Tobacco-Free hospital. The use of tobacco products on hospital grounds is strictly prohibited. You can contact our free Tobacco Cessation Hotline at (662) 712-1472 for information on quitting.

Leave the room during tests or treatments if asked.

Visiting Hours

Hospital patients in departments other  Maternity can generally receive visitors 24/7 unless otherwise notified.

Maternity: 7 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Waiting Rooms

Designated waiting areas are located outside of the Panola Medical Center Emergency Department, Med/Surg floor, Surgery Clinic, Women’s Clinic, Radiology Department, Surgery Department and in the front lobby by Batesville Family Medical Center.

Public Restrooms

Please do not use the bathrooms in patient rooms. They are reserved only for patients in order to protect their health. Public restrooms are located in the front lobby, the Med/Surg and Emergency Department waiting areas, in the hospital cafeteria and beside the Panola Medical Center Women’s Clinic.

Parking

Visitor parking is located in front of the hospital facing the front lobby, beside the emergency department and behind the hospital adjacent to the back entrance. Handicap parking is available in all parking locations.

Calling Your Nurse

The calling system in your room is located within easy reach of your bed. This system is used for easy contact with staff members at the nursing station. A member of your health care team will show you how to use it. If you require assistance, press the call button. A member of your team will respond as quickly as possible.

Wireless Internet Service

Panola Medical Center offers free wireless internet service to all patients and patient visitors.

Valuables

If you cannot send your valuables home, please speak with your nurse about storing them in the hospital safe. Panola Medical Center cannot be responsible for any valuables left in your room.

Lost and Found

If you misplace or find any items during your stay at Panola Medical Center, please contact our Front Desk at (662) 563-5611.

Fire Safety

We periodically conduct fire drills. If you hear an alarm, stay where you are. In the event of an actual emergency, hospital staff will notify you.

Tobacco Use

Smoking and/or the use of any tobacco products is not permitted anywhere in the hospital or on hospital grounds. For information on quitting, contact our free Tobacco Cessation Hotline at (662) 712-1472.

ATM

For your convenience, an automated teller machine (ATM) is located in our Emergency Department.

Patient Meals

Patients are provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner from our dietary department, which can be reached at (662) 712-2241.

Guest Meals

Guests are invited to eat breakfast and lunch at the Panola Medical Center Cafeteria, which is located on the first floor of the hospital and accessible from the elevators adjacent to Outpatient Surgery and the Panola Medical Center Women’s Clinic.

Cafeteria Information

Panola Medical Center Cafeteria is located on the first floor of the hospital and is accessible from the elevators adjacent to Outpatient Surgery and the Panola Medical Center Women’s Clinic. Visitors are welcome to dine in the cafeteria.

Breakfast: 7 – 10 a.m.

Lunch: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Vending Machines

Vending machines offering beverages and snacks are located in Med-Surg and Outpatient Surgery Waiting Areas. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Pastoral Care

The hospital Chaplain and a group of volunteer ministers are available to all patients and their families. Please contact your nurse to request these services. A chapel is located in the hospital lobby, directly beside the Hospital Gift Shop.
